(Progressive rock, Krautrock) DOM - "Edge of time" (1972) - 2007, APE (image + .cue), lossless

This is an album which will appeal greatly to fans of the 'Saucerful' and 'More' era Pink Floyd sound. The four tracks on this album have some great acoustic guitar work along with some stellar Richard Wright-esque organ work. Despite the obvious influence in sound, don't expect this album to be a second-rate imitation. 'Edge Of Time' offers up four (inter) stellar tracks guaranteed to take you on a voyage through time! Much of the music has a subdued, yet intense quality which at times explodes forth with eerie electronic sounds. The title track contains the only lyrics on the album which are presented in poem form:
"You will meet me there at the edge of time. The fire-sea licking my feet gas and damp, wind and rain, snow, heat, waters, ice and pain. Damned souls cry "Forgiveness!" The past will be future and future will be past. Not one thing in our world that will ever last. Only you and me until eternity shall that spirit one containing two wander through space and peace we knew."
This is a great album for those of you who, like myself, love long tracks which flow freely and build slowly within their tight structure only to lead you back to where you started.

Dom is a quartet formed by a multi-national musical collective (with members from Germany, Poland and Hungary). Their unique album called “edge of time” was released in a relative discretion in1970. The music reaches the listener into a space, acoustic “trip” dominated by guitars and percussions. Introspect electric organs parts, bass “drones”, simplistic “weird” electronic effects are added to the mix in order to deliver an unforgettable psychedelic “voyage”. The concept of the album is based upon a bad “trip”, its consequences on mind and perception of time (introduced on the cover of the album and by the plaintive recitation of the title track). A group which has similarities with a few experimental krautrock recordings (notably a few curiosities released on the ohr label) but it put a large stress on acoustic, folk musical ideas. An avant garde, dreamy and poetic album that can easily convince every fan of the genre.
