As the last gabber leaves the RAI, the inevitable becomes reality. The brand, the religion, the rave, the most legendary name in hardcore is no more. The end of an era. The end of the beginning. The end of this chapter in hardcore. It has finally arrived. Thunderdome is history.
Tonight Thunderdome proved itself the greatest of all raves. Never again will the Wizard look down on you, the ravers. Never again will ‘Welcome to another edition of Thunderdome’ welcome hardcore fanatics to a night full of wonders. And as we say goodbye to that what has been part of all our lives for so long, we like to thank all the people who’ve made this legend possible.
The venues, where we were always welcome. The suppliers, who’ve always made sure we never left had to rave thirsty. The crew, as they always made sure the parties went as smooth as possible. The photographers and filmcrews, who’ve captured so many priceless memories for us to look back at. The designers, always making us look good. The DJ’s, giving us so much legendary music. The organizers, who’s visions and ideas made this all possible.
But most of all, we thank you. The ravers, the true believers who stood by us for the past twenty years. All those nights, dancing to the sound and tripping beneath the stroboscopes. Setting the example for all the parties today. Creating a culture, a way of live, a hardcore family. From the deepest of our hearts, we are grateful to you. Together you made history. Together you are Thunderdome.
As long as the will be hardcore, there will be Thunderdome. In our hearts, in our minds, in our blood.
As a special someone said once: ‘Thunderdome ‘till we die!’
