Автор написанного под спойлером ниже говорит, что для создания этого ремикса Mirror Spock использовал "the cv of this album". К сожалению, я так и не разобрался, что это сокращение (cv) может означать в данном случае (commercial version? clean vinyl?).

"Mirror Spock's new mono mix of "Abbey Road" was something that I had trepidations about initially. Though I know he has experience remixing Beatles tracks into many variable stereo mixes and was pretty successful with those - I wasn't sure what he could do about taking this classic album and giving us something that would be more than just collapsed stereo. The disc comes laminated with the Beatles green Apple logo and track lists and the stem of the Apple has the Mirror Spock logo of Spock from Star Trek wearing headphones. Funny, but that ruins the visual of looking at the disc. Better would be small typefaced "MS" on the stem. That's my little peeve I have and only one - as this mono mix is a real treat to these ears! Working from the cv of this album, he takes all the elements aurally heard and possible to work from, given the fact that he doesn't have access to the master tapes - is not an easy job, one I'd never have the technical aptitude to accomplish.

What this does for "Abbey Road" is opens the mix (yes, it does!) giving the album more clarity and punch. Definitely not a fold down mix! There are more accentuations of instruments, vocals, cymbals, bell and the anvil to a point of clarity I'd never expect from a homemade mono mix, without disturbing the integrity of the Beatles' songs. What I like most about this mix is Paul's bass becomes more prominent throughout. No artifacts such as hiss nor a sense of noise reduction which I detected on the cv when a-b'ing the discs. There are no major differences, but it's the little things that stand out in a subtle yet un-intrusive way. Very much like having the mono versions of most Beatles albums, which offer more punch. This album rocks with a slightly harder edge with this mix. What you get is special and unique. No, there are no tracks fiddled with speeded up or slowed down. Glad that wasn't done!
It's the version of preference for me now, replacing the cv on my shelf as the choice to play. It's well-done and worth a listen. I commend Mirror Spock for a job well done, tastefully and respectfully.
