[SACD-R][HDCD] Trisha Yearwood - Personally Yours - 2011 (Country)

Patricia Lynn Yearwood, professionally known as Trisha Yearwood (born September 19, 1964), is an American country music artist. She is best known for her ballads about vulnerable young women from a female perspective that have been described by some music critics as "strong" and "confident."

Trisha Yearwood signed with MCA Records in 1990. She came to prominence with her debut single, "She's in Love with the Boy" which became a #1 hit on the Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart in 1991. Her second album release, Hearts in Armor (1992) reflected Yearwood's own personal issues, which won her widespread critical acclaim among music critics and further success in country music. Her later album releases such as The Song Remembers When (1993), Thinkin' About You (1995) and Everybody Knows (1996) also demonstrated her creative control, featuring collaborations from Rodney Crowell, Willie Nelson and Garth Brooks.

Yearwood also found major success in country radio during much of the 1990s, including with the 1997 song "How Do I Live." Initially released on the soundtrack of the film, Con Air, the song was also issued on her "greatest hits" compilation entitled (Songbook) A Collection of Hits (1997) and would eventually win Best Female Country Vocal Performance from the Grammy Awards. In addition she would also win accolades from the Academy of Country Music and Country Music Association Awards in 1997 and 1998. Aside from her success in country music, she has also donated her time as a philanthropist, working with Habitat for Humanity and the Make a Wish Foundation. In addition she also set aside a project to release her first cookbook in April 2008 titled Georgia Cooking in an Oklahoma Kitchen, which consisted of southern cooking recipes from Yearwood, her mother and sister.

From 1991 to 2008, Trisha has released some 14 albums.

Unknown to many fans and buyers of Trisha's CDs, many of her earlier recordings were encoded in High Definition Compatible Digital (HDCD). The engineering quality of her music had always been very good, and encoding in HDCD using the legendary Pacific Microsonic encoder made the digital renditions very good sounding.

However, the true potential of Trisha's music can only be unleashed when the HDCD signal is decoded on a HDCD-compatible CD player or DAC. Peak Extension has been extensively used in encoding, and when decoded, her music sounds even more dynamic and impactful.

Since many Trisha fans do not own HDCD decoding playback equipment, they may have never heard their own Trisha CDs in their best light. It is therefore my aim to decode her HDCD tracks back to their 20-bit resolution and transcode them to the warm and smooth DSD format for the enjoyment of new and existing fans. Taking this opportunity to exploit the full potential of SACD-R, I have at my disposal, the capacity to cherry-pick more than 60 of Trisha's songs to feature here. Each and every song of her entire repertoire has been carefully auditioned and then shortlisted for inclusion in this ISO.

Only the very best have made it: a total of 57 tracks. The more overt country-style classics were not included, to help ease more pop-music lovers into her country-influenced pop music. Some tracks were chosen for their dynamic arrangements. Others for showcasing her wide vocal range and diverse singing styles. Yet others were selected for their meaningful or amusing lyrics. Whatever the rationale for selection, I assure you that each and every track here has a very, very personal connection with me.

In addition, attention has been paid to the sorting of the tracks to spread out the slower and the faster songs. This helps to balance out the pace of the listening session. All the selection and sorting is based on a very subjective and personal point of view. That is why the SACD-R is entitled "Personally Trisha". Presenting Trisha Yearwood in my very own personal way, and bringing out the most personally-meaningful messages in her music. (Note: I've also hunted down some rare bonus tracks and duet tracks not normally included in her CDs. Some are therefore not in HDCD quality, but if they are found in this compilation, then the musicianship and engineering must still be deemed worthy of selection on various grounds of merit.)

I hope the selections here will deepen the listener's appreciation of her work, and spur continued support of her artistry.
