Superchunk - американская инди-рок-группа из Чапел-Хилл, Северная Каролина, состоящая из певца / гитариста Мака Маккофана, гитариста Джима Уилбура, басистки Лауры Бэлэнс и барабанщика Джона Вюрстера. Сформированные в 1989 году, они были одной из тех групп, которые помогли определить музыкальную сцену Чапел-Хилл в 1990-х годах. Их энергичный, высокоскоростной стиль и этика DIY были под влиянием панк-рока. Группа выпустила часть полнометражных альбомов и сборников на протяжении 90-х годов.
Члены группы Маккофан и Бэлэнс основали успешный независимый рекорд-лейбл Merge в 1989 году как способ освободить музыку Superchunk и музыку друзей, которая уже охватывает музыкантов со всего мира и записи, идущие на вершины музыкальных чартов Billboard.
