Takaakira 'Taka' Goto is a composer based in Tokyo, Japan, who also is known as the lead guitarist and composer for Japanese instrumental rock band MONO.
MONO was originally formed in 1999 and has now released a total of 9 albums, including a live album of a performance with the New York Symphony Orchestra. The band has successfully toured all over the world; through North America, Europe, Asia and Oceania, and continues to expand their path every year. With their intense wall shaking sounds and dynamic performances, audiences often describe their shows as a life changing experience, and the band as one of the best live acts ever witnessed.
After 16 years of leading MONO, Taka feels it is now the perfect time to start his solo career. His debut album "Classical Punk and Echoes Under the Beauty" will be released globally in April 2015 via Pelagic Records and Magniph in Japan. The album was originally written and recorded in 2003, however Taka believes that this will be a great starting point for him as a solo musician.
His music style is undoubtedly original. Much like the title states, the music is beautiful like Classical music, yet has the same impact as Punk Rock; incorporating piano, strings and noise based on electric guitars, the music takes listeners to different spiritual worlds, from the darkest undergrounds to the highest heavens through his music.
"Ode To Joy", Taka likes to say as Beethoven once did. His vision for his solo career and future compositions is ambitious, and he has plans to be involved in more cinematic arts from movies to TV shows.
Much like MONO, his solo music shall continue to bring joy and tears to the listeners of this world.
