Italian Japanese storms the Indie/Alternative Rock world with debut album “The Lush, Romantic Weirdness”
October 26, 2009 – Italian Japanese, an Indie/Alternative Rock band from Southern California, has released their wildly anticipated new album “The Lush, Romantic Weirdness.” Having a unique sound that is identifiable to the masses, Italian Japanese has smartly crafted an album laced with a variety of melodic, dance-style; yet stirringly soulful tunes, contagious and bound to captivate the listener. With tracks like “Jaguar Paw” and “Le Pony” hitting the airways up and down the West Coast, and recently charting #4 on the national CMJ charts, Italian Japanese has created a buzz among journalists and communities alike resulting in high praise and ultimately a demand for their self produced, recorded, and funded album.
Though being a new band, collectively, through past projects (Weatherbox, Lance's Hero, The Color Turning, Lucky 7), Italian Japanese has performed several times across the U.S., U.K., Europe and Canada. Music festivals include: Reading, Leeds, Pinkpop, Puklepop, Rock Am Ring, Rock Am Park, Livid, Big Day Out, Terra Moto, Warped Tour, Bamboozle and numerous radio shows. Artists include: Foo Fighters, Jimmy Eat World, Queens of the Stone Age, Vampire Weekend, and many more.
Italian Japanese was also featured on MTV Australia PUSH, recognizing their debut album as “the future of indie music. Combining elements of folk, pop, electronic, and dance, these California upstarts will have you tapping your toes, while singing your woes.”
