Просто великолепный релиз. После "Lesbian Show" у NIGHTFALL было два пути: либо продолжить начатое на предыдущем альбоме и оказаться в плену самоплагиата либо удариться в область экспериментов и, в результате, скатиться к элетропопу и тому подобному хламу. Вообще, в творчестве любой талантливой группы бывают моменты, когда им становится тесно в рамках того узкого стиля, в который их пытаются запихнуть критики и фаны, и они стремятся обогатить свое звучание новыми красками. И вот тогда риск, увлекшись экспериментами, потерять свое лицо очень велик. Но NIGHTFALL с честью преодолели это испытание - они создали абсолютно новый альбом, абсолютно непохожий на предыдущий, существенно изменили музыку, но при этом - это 100% NIGHTFALL, 100% метал! При этом, метал существенно испытавший влияние других стилей, особенно готики, (Holy records рекламирует альбом как "narcotic gothic metal". Основа осталась той же: состав - Efthimis Karadimas, Mike Galiatsos, Phil Anton, Mark Cross, музыка - тяжелый гитарный саунд, мощная ритм-секция, но появилась масса электронных эффектов, и теперь Эфтимас полностью отказался от death-вокала. На всех песнях звучит чистый голос, и признаться, хуже от этого не стало. Электроника лишь служит созданию эффектов в отдельных местах, но не нарушает общего живого звучания. Фирменный NIGHTFALL'овский саунд сохранился, но местами стал более мягким, что некоторые наиболее радикальные метал-критики расценили как отход в столрону более легкого рока и даже выдумали термин extreme-rock, с чем лично я не согласен, ведь, хотя спектр различных влияний на альбоме весьма широк, от восточной музыки на "Sheer misfit" до почти Iron Maiden'овской "Picture me" и нескольких песен с явным налетом готики, это, все-таки, - метал. Лидер группы Эфтимис Карадимас говорит следующее: "Мы всегда были и останемся группой на 100% играющей метал, но играть в любимом стиле не означает повторять старые клише, а развивать стиль, внедрять в него новые элементы. Мы хотим, чтобы метал был музыкой, которая не стоит на месте, а развивается, черт возьми, мы хотим играть его до конца своих дней! Мы любим банды вроде JUDAS PRIEST и ACCEPT, просто повторять их будет нечестно". Специально для этого для записи альбома был привлечен новый продюсер J.P.Genkel, известный по своей работе с THERION. Его влияние заметно, но не является определяющим. Как и раньше большинство песен выдержаны в среднем темпе, есть несколько относительных "медляков", таких как "Pleasure". Явные хиты - "Sheer misfit" и "Ceaseless", прекрасно запоминающиеся после первого же прослушивания. Идейно и лирически "Diva Futura" продолжает "Lesbian Show", в центре тот же герой, но на сей раз возвращающийся к жизни и мстяший своим врагам. Он снова учится жить, любить, наслаждаться и одновременно жестоко расправляется с теми, кто вызвал его падение. Таким образом, оба альбома образуют своего рода дилогию, объединенную общей идеей и личностью героя. P.S. Как стало известно NIGHTFALL недавно покинули Holy Records и ведут преговоры с рядом лейблов о новом контракте.
