Lelantos, technically, is an atmospheric funeral doom metal band. However, in other and more profound words, it is an experience through the depths of human consciousness and its relation to reality.
In greek mythology, Lelantos was the titan god of air. However, the greek words "lêthô", "lanthanô", and "lelathon", from which the god's name derives, originally meant "to move unseen" or "to walk without being noticed". Lelantos, then, is a symbolism for loneliness and desperation.
Dealing mainly with philosophical themes such as metaphysics and epistemology, Lelantos tries to reach the innermost of reality through a poetic - although skeptical - usage of technical themes.
Formed in Pelotas (Brazil) in early 2016, the band's first work, a Debut called "Akrasia", is an effort to characterize the human most underrated trace: the emotions.
"If to live is to feel, then apathy means perishment."
The substance of motion. The source of living. The distress behind depression. The coldness in progress. The start of vanishment. This is what comes out from "Akrasia". All this embebbed in a monolitic loop-like drum style plus layers of heavy guitars and ethereal keyboard lines.
Thus, Lelantos is a complete artwork for the desolated. (c)
