(Pagan Black Metal) Arkona - Zeta Reticuli: A Tale About Hatred And Total Enslavement - 2001, FLAC (tracks+.cue), lossless

When we talk about True Black Metal, we understand what the genre is about. The Most Brutal Anti-God feelings have to be portrayed. The most ancient things have to be related to the music. Blood of pagans have to run through the blood while listening to it. And don't forget the Demons! Arkona does play Black Metal, and a pretty good one. This recording especially sounds old and used. Even though it was recorded in 2001, I still think this sounds like a demo. The drums sound like programmed, but they are real. The album goes perfect through out its time, while each song is perfectly accommodated to the next one. I reviewed each song with its translated titles.
Starting with "When a Boulder Resembles God's Form/ Circle of Fire..."
A pure Black Metal song. Starts immediately without having the chance to hear a slower intro. The vocals are perfect. The Chorus have this echo really well effected. A really short acoustic section is played at 3:52, then the brutality keeps going. When the song is finishing at 6:30, the sound of a beast eating humanity can be heard. Horses being ridden and a piano played theatrically.
"A Demonic Stare of the Gods, Directed Towards Arkone in the Day of A New Faith..." Is a song without intro (again) which makes it powerful. The chorus part is fantastic. Everything is very coordinated and well played. This can be the best song of the album because of its easy to listen harmony but here are a lot of songs like this one that are a pleasure to listen to.
"An Imaginary Defect of the Inaccessibility of Secret Gods for Which a Pagan
Pride Does Not Disdain..." This song is pretty fast. once the vocals start, a big difference in voice is noticed from the last songs and this one. Like if there were two singers for this album. One of them more sadistic than the other though. At 1:53 the more sadistic vocals start, if it is Nuclear doing both vocals then that man is a genius. The drumming is heard like programmed even more.
"Unusually Represses The Way to the Stars and Immemorial Debility in
Understanding the Truth Hidden At the Poles of Fear..." Another magnified song of this album. I shall say that every single song in this album worth. Even though the titles are truly long. It is atmospheric. The bass guitar takes the power here. Its atmosphere can make someone feel stoned somehow. At the fifth minute the song ends suddenly and a possessed voice repeats a phrase constantly to start with the next piece.
"The Bitter Tears of the Nectar of Eternity..." Another master piece for this album. The drums take place here, not like programmed but like actually being played by someone. Epic chorus that can make an individual think about Bathory. Once again this song is another cool piece in this album. It does sound old but it also makes it sound pagan and occult.
“I Will Depart in the Day When Whores Are Silenced…” This song is quite different from the others. A background vocal is effecting a sermon while Nuclear sings normally through this very fast song. A pretty mysterious piece that this band knew how to do well.
“Zeta Reticuli - The Ultimate Reconciliation Of Creators Without the
Necessity of Reincarnation…” Through out all of this album there has been a voice in different stages, mostly in the chorus part of some songs. As the last piece and song that gives the name of this tremendous recording that voice has to be present again. This song begins with a passage of two seconds of a clean guitar playing chords and then the song starts more aggressive. At 5:39 the song goes away, to return with the same tune but without drums, only the two lead guitars. Once the drums come back a different riff is played by one of the guitars and that would mark the outro of the song and the end of an album.
Arkona has creative songs, easy to listen to and occult as they can be heard. This album specially is something that has to be listened to from the very beginning until the very last note. It is a true master piece that most Black Metal fans should get.
