In 1997, Tooth & Nail Records got a hold of their first self-titled album (originally released through Swedish Day-Glo Records) and signed a licensing deal with Blindside. In 1999, was released second album, A Thought Crushed My Mind, which explored a harsher, more hardcore side than the band's debut, and vocalist/chief lyricist Christian Lindskog also voiced his pain of missing his wife, Elina, while touring. The group received greater attention in 2001, when they toured with P.O.D., resulting in a contract with Elektra.
In 2002, Blindside released their most known album, Silence. The band appeared on Late Night with Conan O'Brien, toured with Hoobastank, Linkin Park and Mudvayne, and also appeared in the skateboarding film Grind. Some fans consider this album as Blindside's best work, as it perfectly combines beautiful vocal melodies with dramatic, crisp instrumentation.
In 2004, band’s headlining tour was marred by several incidents: tour bus crashed and was in disrepair, forcing the band to rent a van; аfter dining in a restaurant in Dallas, TX, they found that everything in the rented van had been stolen, including passports and money. But then Blindside released next album, About a Burning Fire. This album showed the band playing with their diversity, adding techno elements and yodeling Swedish vocals to the songs. The track "Hooray, It's L.A." features the guitar and back up vocals of Billy Corgan.
Losing support from their label, in 2005 Blindside re-released their first two albums, with bonus tracks and new cover art, released DVD, entitled Ten Years Running Blind 1994-2004 and a new album, The Great Depression, showcased the band’s experimenting with multiple new genres. Many jazzy elements were incorporated into songs. Several guest vocalists also took part in the recording of the album. Many fans consider The Great Depression the band's most experimental work to date.
Blindside independently released The Black Rose EP in 2007, but then they ceased most band activity until 2011, when they released With Shivering Hearts We Wait, their latest album at the moment. New single "Gravedigger" was released on July 3, 2019.
