Finally. After years of being out of print, the album that started Rok Lok
is back in print and in a big way. With the help of our friends over a
Eugenics Record Label we have put painstakingly amount of effort to make the
reissue of the debut album from On the Might of Princes all that more
special, and fans of the band will appreciate that. "The Making of a
Conversation" has been carefully remastered so it could be heard the way it
was intended to. Additionally there are now three bonus tracks as well as
multimedia section with a video and a link to a site with exclusive
content-video, streaming audio and photos. This deluxe reissue comes with a
beautiful 24 page booklet that is wrapped up in a striking UV coated O-card.
On the Might of Princes later became known for their dynamic approach to
screamy hardcore that melded meldoicism as much as it did dissonant guitar
textures, but "The Making of a Conversation" is the beginning of the story
that finds the band utilzing a more accessible post hardcore song structures
'ala Sunny Day Real Estate while intertwining with influences ranging from
Fugazi to I Hate Myself to Failure. The process of putting these reissues has
been a long one but easily one of the most rewarding experience in doing this
label. This is the record that changed my life and I am proud to share it
with you all once again.

In teaming up with our friends at Eugenics Record Label to make the On the
Might of Princes reissues a reality we have been able to bring "Where You Are
and Where You Want to Be", which is an absolute masterpiece to be a part of
the Rok Lok discography and I for one couldn't be more thrilled. "Where You
Are & Where You Want to Be" is one of the best 48 minutes of music ever
commited to tape and is an absolute must for anyone's collection. Years
before screamo became the popular movement that it is today On the Might of
Princes was treading those grounds and leaving an impression like no other.
Originally released by Creep Records and the legendary Traffic Violation
Records, this deluxe reissue of "Where You Are & Where You Want to Be" has
been remastered and has had three bonus tracks as well as multimedia section
with a video and a link to a site with exclusive content-video, streaming
audio and photos. This deluxe reissue comes with a beautiful 24 page booklet
that is wrapped up in a striking UV coated O-card. This album is chaotic, it
is driving, it is dynamic and above all it is cathartic experience like no
other. Mixing post punk influences of Fugazi, Cursive, and Unwound with the
screamy hardcore styles like Saetia or Raein, On the Might of Princes created
music that needs to be heard. This has been one of my favorite records of all
time.

ON THE MIGHT OF PRINCES was a band based out of Long Island that was together from 1998-2004. We recorded 3 full-lengths, had tracks on various comps and toured a good portion of the world. TThey did some reunion shows in May 2007 and August 2008 that were a lot of fun. This page is a way to keep the music alive.
