Наконец-то дискография Эрика Клэптона закончена... Это был долгий путь в четыре с лишним месяца по кропотливому собиранию и обработке материала, но оно того стоило... Официальная дискография находится по соседству (ссылка ниже), а в данной раздаче можно наблюдать огромное количество бутлегов, абсолютно разных по качеству, но очень ценных для любителя. Собственно, я бутлеги никогда не любил и слушать их не собираюсь, но так как прошлая раздача Клэптона содержит дикий винегрет из официальных и не очень альбомов, для поглощения пришлось выделить их в отдельную раздачу. А потом я заинтересовался много ли еще бутлегов у Эрика. И пошло-поехало... В общем, приятного прослушивания!
Треклист Nine tracks, featuring Clapton’s last known recordings with the Yardbirds (1964 at Olympic Sound Studios & IBC Studios) on the first half, and an interesting selection of material with close friends recorded at Jimmy Page’s home in 1965 on the second half. #777One of the better 1974 shows available, both in performance and recording quality. Unlike many of the shows where the band (and their leader's) performance was uneven, this was one of those nights where everyone was at least articulate and coherent, if not "on fire". Rather than rote run-throughs of the setlist, there is some nice artistic expression here. At about 6:50 into 'Tell the Truth' the band goes into a funky vamp, which works out nicely, with a nice segue into "Hideaway" and the "Peter Gunn" theme into a spirited performance of "Ramblin' On My Mind". Aud 5 An excellent audience recording, especially considering the era - far better and more listenable in fact than many aud recs from the 21st century! Worth noting are an excellent instrumental jam performance on Disc 1, and an interesting performance of 'Crossroads'. Listen carefully during the band's rendition of 'Mainline Florida' and you'll catch a hint of the 'Layla' riff as well as a tease of 'Motherless Children'. This performance is also available in a slightly tweaked version on the Mid Valley release 'Joker'. It's a fun show and a personal favorite, not to mention it's from the master - so play it loud and enjoy!

#777SB 6 Here's another oldie but goodie, a classic from the "Golden Age of CD Bootlegs" when these were more readily available. This is from the "Super Golden Radio Shows" label, released in 1991 (go ahead, try and tell me it's lossy), reading "Manufaatured in Italy for SGRS Records, 1991". Interestingly, during this era these recordings were legal to create and sell in certain countries (Luxemborg, and Italy, for a couple), and if you look carefully you'll see the stamp on the back cover denoting this (centered on the "T" in "Eric ClapTon"). All that aside, this show is likely one of the most circulated Clapton performances of all time. This show was recorded and portions later broadcast on March 26, 1978 for the syndicated "King Biscuit Flower Hour". Interestingly, one would assume that this is simply the radio broadcast portion of the performance, but Marc Roberty (Clapton: The Complete Recording Sessions) lists the following as being broadcast: (Peaches and diesel / Wonderful tonight / Lay down Sally / Next time you see her / Cocaine / Badge / Knockin' on heaven's door). Many years later, when the label released "Crossroads 2: Live in the Seventies", the Powers That Be chose to include "The core", "Goin' down slow", and "Rambling on my mind" from this performance, but they are not included on this SGRS release. A casual observation would lead one to conclude that this is identical to the Swingin' Pig release "American Tour '78" (TSP-CD-063) but in fact, it's not. The TSP version does seem to be lightly remastered with some hiss reduction, while this version seems a bit crisper. This version also has a few fades that don't appear on the TSP edtion. Some sources, including the EC Bootography (http://pages.infinit.net/ronfaith/) list portions of this release to be from 1976, this is incorrect and all tracks are from the February 11, 1978 performance. This was a guest appearance at a Marcy Levy gig in Detroit and it was Eric' s Birthday. I cannot confirm the song titles, but from a first listen I can tell that the lenght of the songs is different from what is reported on the artwork, so please you experts outthere listen carefully and let us know some more about this recording. #777"The Forest National in Brussels, Belgium was never an attractive venue and being a hall made for cycling contests, the acoustics were always challenging. However, the taper clearly knew where to position himself for this recording and the resulting tape is probably the best recording from that tour. For many fans, this tour remains as one of the most interesting because Eric was playing as a four piece. George Terry had left the band and this meant that all the guitar duties fell on Eric's shoulders. As such he played his ass off! The gigs may have been shorter than one would have liked, but the performances were truly electric and remain one of the most interesting periods in Eric's concert history. This is another historic recording taken from the genuine master tapes obtained from the taper himself. One interesting note here - with no second guitar player in the band, the Layla riff is played on the organ! Another impeccable Mid Valley release, and the definitive release of this performance. This is a soundboard recording, not to be confused with the high generation audience recording in circulation. EC gets a bit lost in the first verse of Crossroads, but finishes off with some great solos. The band is plagued by some sort of PA/Equipment problems during "Key to the Highway". The show features a nice hot performance of "Carnival", with some nice swirly Hammond B3.

However, with the pending release of the then-groundbreaking "Crossroads" box set, the project was shelved lest it compete commercially. There are a number of ROIO releases purporting to be the "Unreleased Live Album", and to the best of my knowledge, most are based only on speculation as to what the track list of the speculative live album would have been, and sourced from the various soundboards that have made their way into circulation. So, we really have no idea what an actual official release might have contained, but I'd like to think that this particular release might be a really good guess as to what it might have included.

#777SB 6 A superb, close-miked soundboard, originally recorded as part of a project to release a live album from this tour with the 4-piece "Dream Team". Unfortunately the Suits at the record label cancelled the release, fearing it would interfere with the release of the then-groundbreaking "Crossroads" box set. There have been several releases of this concert over the years. The first were "MSG" (Imperial), and "Same Old Blues" (lun). These were later supplanted by remasters on other labels, such as this Stardust Productions remaster of the Imperial Release, and "Same Old Blues Definitive Master" (Playmen Music). Fan label 3BR also released "Slowhand in the Garden". Here, presented for your listening enjoyment, is the Stardust Productions remaster, directly from the silvers. In the end, it can come down to personal preference as to which release one finds to be the "best", make your own decisions and of course ... PLAY IT LOUD!

Sound: SB Quality: 6 from 6 Many people said that that this concert was a "milestone" show. Right decision. It's just great. This concert features Eric Clapton on rhythm guitar (instead of Jack Sonni). In Walk of Life, Clapton did very good solo. Money For Nothing has this long intro sung by Alan Clark (with the background of keyboards, drums and Eric's solo). Brothers In Arms and Wonderful Tonight have PERFECT sound, a bit better than the rest. Also this version of Brothers In Arms is the best I've ever heard in my life.
