Info:
After three years of working together and several demos, We Insist! released its first EP, recorded at Cargo Studio in September 1998, bringing to an end the early period of experimentation in jazz, R&B and funk. This 5-track recording reveals the more alternative direction We Insist! are to later explore with its unusual rhythmic patterns, powerful riffs and heavy saxophone lines.

Info:
Recorded and mixed at the Cargo Studio in September 1999 and distributed by the record shop network FNAC, this first LP was completely self-produced. Instrumental lines and airy passages alternate with more tense songs. Influences are found on the side of Led Zeppelin, Zappa and even Bill Frisell. "I Witness" can be considered as We Insist!'s sandbox for experimentation and exploring the identity and sound of the band.

Info:
Third discovery of the label Le Triton, WE INSIST ! proves a remarkable line-up for many reasons! Those six musicians perform a concession-free music perfectly illustrated on the cover of "Inner Pond" (2002), their second album. The most evident comparison point seems to be the KING CRIMSON of "Red" with a sometimes even more radical approach (Yes, it is possible !)... The impressive bass manages to fill the sound horizon by itself even though it is already quite saturated by a feverish guitar and wild brass. As for the drums, it proves to be totally free, and particularly affectionates complex and continually evolving rhythms. The English texts perfectly illustrate the dark and deep aspect of it all. We'll also notice some good incursion into free-jazz or more modern musics. A true discovery!
We Insist! are a French line-up of two guitarists, two sax players, and a rhythm section. On 'Inner Pound' they demonstrate their skilled musicianship within the broad spectre of avantprog, jazz, and rock. A strong element of their music is the counterpoint interaction between the saxes, along dissonant chord progressions. Lyrical passages interrupted by metalcore eruptions, groovy riffs supported by heavy syncopations - the highly energetic compositions remind me of bands like Thinking Plague, Sleepytime Gorilla Museum, & Mr. Bungle. If you are into any of those, you should definitely check out a few sound bits on the band's website. The CD was released by Le Triton - also famous because of its annual "Les Tritonales" festival in Paris.

Info:
Recorded at Triton in live conditions, high volume and in nine days in January 2004 and mixed the following month at Sriracha Studio Crude imposes a style that seeks confrontation with his predecessor. Often the break is. Crude is intentionally less scholarly and extends a form of emergency that the group breathed into his music for several months through formats and instrumental lines condensed printing raw or brutal, opting for the final mix is especially thick material. The band's music moves to a rock and fed experimental metal post-punk informed and irreverent. The voice enriches now almost all the pieces. Surprise upheaval and remain the hallmarks of a style that caresses the emotions always against the grain.
Lineup:
Etienne Gaillochet (drums, lead vocals),
Julien Allanic (bass),
Eric Martin (guitar, backing vocals),
Julien Divisia (guitar, backing vocals),

Info:
Recorded by Peter Deimel (The Kills, Chokebore, the Thugs) at Blackbox Studios (Exile on Mainstream Records). In order to assert its maturity, independence and celebrate a decade of existence, the band just created its own label, Corruptible Records. But being mature does not necessarily mean being old. And for those of you who might think otherwise, Oh, Things Are So Corruptible is the definitive answer. Only a few bands display such an amazing amount of freshness, creativity and ambition, even on the other side of the Atlantic.
Lineup:

Julien Allanic (bass, piano)
Etienne Gaillochet (drums, vocals)

Info:
"The Babel Inside Was Terrible" is the result of just over one years’ intense hard work and heavy concentration on song-writing and rehearsals. After recording 2007′s “OH ! Things Are So Corruptible”, at Black Box Studio with Peter Deimel (Chokebore, The Kills, etc.), this incredibly talented producer was once again enthusiastic to work with We Insist ! on a more involved level. This time around, Deimel recorded, mixed and produced “The Babel Inside Was Terrible” working with the band from beginning to end. OH ! what a job he did! A crystal-clear production, as powerful and challenging as you can hope for.
Lineup:
Etienne Gaillochet (drums, lead vocals)
Julien Divisia (backing vocals, guitar, synthesizers)
Eric Martin (guitar)
Julien Allanic (bass, guitar)
François Wong (electric saxophone)
Production: Corruptible Records and Oriente Bancal.
Recording and mixing: Peter Deimel at Black Box studio, Noyant-La-Gravoyere (France), in February 2009.

Info:
The eponymous album from We Insist! and the first as a trio. Recorded in Studio Nibiru in 2013, this self-titled album incorporates noise, post-hardcore, math-rock and pushes even further the ever-changing aspects of rock and its' unexplored variations. For the reference-savvy purists, we’ll make reference to acts such as Fugazi, Primus, NoMeansNo, Tool or Medications.
Trimmed down to three members since 2010, We Insist! has gone back to basics with their feet firmly planted in the ground, creating more melodic music than before; surplus and excess removed.
Lineup:
Julien Allanic (Bass, Guitar, Backing Vocals)
Eric Martin (Guitar, Backing Vocals)
Etienne Gaillochet (Lead Vocals, Drums)

Info:
Lineup:
Julien Divisia (Bass, Vocals, Guitar, Mandolin, Piano, Mellotron, Loops)
Eric Martin (Electric And Acoustic Guitars)
Etienne Gaillochet (Drums, Vocals, Loops, Synth, Acoustic Guitar, Timpani, Mellotron)
