Born in Israel and raised in France, the sultry voice of singer/songwriter Nancy Danino has been the highlight of everything from film soundtracks to Scandinavian pop hits.
My name is Nancy Danino, I’m an Israeli-French singer songwriter and 7 years ago, I moved to New York City to pursue my dream of recording an album, building my band and performing in this city that I love so much. I worked really hard, and today this album is ready! I did everything I could by myself, but I'm here today because I need your support to release and promote it. Thank you so much for taking 4mns of your time to watch the video I prepared to introduce myself to you in the most simple and sincere way; discover my journey from Paris to New York!
So here's a little bit of my story...
Before I moved here, I was very comfortable...I was signed at BMG Music Publishing, I was working with a great team and I collaborated with amazing artists all round Europe, but I just couldn't figure out my next level.
I had the chance to meet Anders Hansson who’s a very talented producer in Sweden, and together we started these intense and powerful songwriting sessions; It was one of the most amazing times of my life. So when the US office of BMG Music Publishing listened to the songs and invited me to NY, I couldn't resist... I knew I had to go. And this is when the real fight started for me!
I dived in a world I thought I knew so well; I know, love, and understand music, but I realized I didn’t have any knowledge of the business really. It was evolving and changing so fast! It was scary sometimes, heartbreaking and frustrating too, but I never looked back. Today I understand how this journey was valuable. I learned so much along the way. The album is recorded, produced, ready...if you watch the video you will probably understand my journey a little more;) I actually named it Testify because I desire to be a witness that if you pursue your dreams with certainty and tenacity, anything can happen!
In January 2013, I met and partnered with a wonderful young woman named Christina Weber. She jumped on board with me and decided to make this mission hers. Together we started to branch out to industry people with the goal to build the same kind of strong team I had in Europe. The feedback has been amazing and today we're about to release the album worldwide with a great company!!!
Today the album is finished, and scheduled to be released Wednesday January 28th 2015 at Joe's Pub NY, with the label YEBO founded by Colin Finkelstein (EMI).
