Insane was founded in 1998 by Gábor Érsek and Oszkár Knapp. At the first concerts in 1999, mostly standard cover songs were played as well as a few own songs but a 4 song-demo was soon to be recorded. Slowly but certainly Insane were introducing their typical style into the Hungarian scene, playing along headliner Freshfabrik on their Hungarian tour in 2000 and performing a first standalone tour with 10 locations. That same year, the song "Speech Of Dad" was put on Shock Magazine's compilation. It was played several times on the countrywide radio station EST FM. In 2001 it was time for a longer tour and bigger festivals, like Pepsi Island (now Sziget Festival). By that time, Insane played only self-made songs and a debut album was in preparation. January 2002 saw the release of debut LP ("Searching For Thoughts"). Despite the fact that it was a low-budget production, it got great feedback from the fans. For the LP's release tour, Insane had the opportunity to perform with Hungary's favorite, Tankscapda, as well as other famous bands like Action, Superbutt and Freshfabrik. This brought the awaited breakthrough and the band was added to the Hungarian professional music scene, so invitations to all the bigger festivals and many music televisions followed. The low budget clip ("Play") became a determining Insane hit. That year, Insane came in second in Warner Music Hungary and VIVA TV's talent spotter. Insane matured further and started to write songs for the second LP in 2003. The first concerts abroad came up. Early 2004, the second LP, "XXI Century Poison" was released. It generated honorable mentions from the part of the industry and from the fans as well because musically and soundwise a great step forward had been taken. The tour "Get Poisoned Now" traveled across Europe (Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, France, Germany, Serbia and Slovakia), 3 different music videos from the LP were canned and several songs were featured on compilations. 2004 also saw Insane nominated as "Best modern rock band in Hungary" by Viva Television. After the success of ICBad (a special fan-directed release heralding Insane's recent stylistic upgrade), the band's concerts became very popular, making it possible for Insane to play alongside famous bands like D. R. I., Deep Insight, etc. In 2005, the third record "King Of Fools" was recorded. This one made the band's fan base boom. After the recordings Insane started their longest tour ever ("Tour Of Fools"): 25-30 Hungarian stages and summer festivals sharing stages with Napalm Death, Most Precious Blood, Diecast, Pro-Pain etc.) all around Europe. The first music video from the LP, "Scare The Crows", will be followed by two others. Insane now gets played by some of the biggest American internet-radio Metal stations. According to Insane's plans to acquire a pan-European fan base and to release "King Of Fools" abroad, Hardebaran Management was happy to add the band to its roster. For starters, "King Of Fools" will be released in the Benelux and France mid-November (by Two Fat Men).
