Zeljko Kovacevic- clarinettist, saxophonist, composer (Zagreb, 18. march 1954.). Graduated in clarinet studies at the Music academy and in geography at the Academy of Nature and maths. He is consistently running few groups with different music styles: TOWER77, KOVA&co (fusion), MODO NOVO (sacral, classic, world music), CROATIAN SAXEX (folk composing), CUTE (swing) and the ZAGREBAKI DIXIELAND ANSAMBL. In all these he stands out as a remarkable composer, clarinettist and a saxophonist. He was granted a scolarship at the Goethe institute and there participated in the first jazz workshop in Zagreb as well as in Burghausen where he collaborated with the european music youth. He is one of the founders of The Big-band, the orchestra of the Croatian Music institute (HGZ). eljko participated in numerous international jazz festivals. As a soloist he performed on the Caribbean islands, in Brazil, Togo and throughout Europe. Since 1968. he plays at the Big-band of HRT. Zeljko Kovacevic 's longtime saxophonist , soloist " Dance Orchestra of Croatian Radio Television " , but also the leaders of some small jazz and fusion compositions such as " The Cute " , " Zagreb Dixieland Ensemble " and , most famous of them , " Tower 77 " in which , over the last twenty years , playing many of our well-known jazz and rock musicians . He is a versatile musician (he plays tenor and soprano saxophone and clarinet ) and composer , and is known for having played stylistically diverse music that always , more or less , has contact with jazz . He played and out of our country and cooperated with many world-renowned musicians . But this album , which is the first of three for which the musical material is fully prepared and waiting in reserve , was achieved outside the framework of constant composition in collaboration with the pianist and percussionist Jaroslav Kubicek , with the rest being metal associates is accompanied by guitarist Ivan Kapec and singer J. Balent and J. Zlopaša . Album is characterized by a fusion of different styles , the music that continues to guidelines outlined in the seventies Miles Davis , and later his followers . But despite popular performances feels jazz sound approach in which Kovacevic and Kubicek are as mature soloists . Besides the two sung that were performed in the manner of pop , all other tracks are instrumentals played in the solid rhythm is abundant support electronics . Dominated by a sharp , aggressive sound of the saxophone which equally parry keyboards bringing richness of sounds . All songs written by Kova and even during the eighties than when mature idea of such a project . Finally , the decision of Orpheus to publish some of the material , opened the way to the audience , and I hope that soon the trilogy , which still lacks " Pre Shave " and " Body " , will soon be complete .

Željko Kovačević je dugogodišnji saksofonist, solist "Plesnog orkestra Hrvatske radiotelevizije", ali i vođa nekih malih jazz i fusion sastava kao što su "The Cute", "Zagrebački Dixieland Ensemble" i, najpoznatiji od njih, "Toranj 77" u kojem su, tijekom zadnjih dvadesetak godina, svirali naši brojni poznati jazz i rock glazbenici. Svestran je glazbenik (svira tenor i sopran saksofon i klarinet) i skladatelj, a poznat je po tome što svira stilski raznovrsnu glazbu koja uvijek, više ili manje, ima dodira s jazzom. Svirao je i izvan granica naše zemlje i surađivao s brojnim svjetski poznatim glazbenicima. No, ovaj album, koji je prvi od tri za koje je glazbeni materijal u cijelosti pripremljen i čeka u pričuvi, ostvaren je izvan okvira stalnih sastava u suradnji s klaviristom i udaraljkašem Jaroslavom Kubičekom, dok se od ostalih Kovinih suradnika na njemu pojavljuju gitarist Ivan Kapec i pjevačice J. Balent i J. Zlopaša. Album karakterizira fuzija raznih stilova, glazba koja nastavlja smjernice koje je sedamdesetih zacrtao Miles Davis, a kasnije i njegovi sljedbenici. No unatoč popularnijim izvedbama osjeća se jazzistički pristup u kojem se Kovačević i Kubiček predstavljaju kao zreli solisti. Osim dvije pjevane koje su izvedene u pop maniri, sve ostale skladbe su instrumentali odsvirani u čvrstom ritmu i s obilnom podrškom elektronike. Dominira oštar, napadački zvuk saksofona kojem ravnopravno pariraju klavijature donoseći bogatstvo zvukova. Sve skladbe napisao je Kova i to još tijekom osamdesetih godina od kada se safta ideja o jednom ovakvom projektu. Konačno je, odlukom Orfeja da objavi dio materijala, otvoren put prema slušateljima i nadam se da će uskoro trilogija, kojoj još nedostaju "Pre Shave" i "After Shave", uskoro biti potpuna.
