dXb Recently there seems to have been an easterly wind dXb
dXb blowingthrough the electronic music scene: More and dXb
dXb more artists, particularly fromRomania, have staked dXb
dXb an impressive claim on the dance floors of Europes dXb
dXb bestclubs and on the ears of its House music dXb
dXb audience. Among the luminaries ofthe trend is Mihai dXb
dXb Popoviciu, one of the most innovative producers in dXb
dXb EasternEurope. Mihai has already gained plenty of dXb
dXb experience as a producer and DJ -he was only 14 years dXb
dXb old when he discovered the electronic underground of dXb
dXb hishomeland. It was like a virus to me, it infected dXb
dXb me immediately, he recalls. In2001 he finally began dXb
dXb with his own music production, a pursuit which is dXb
dXb closelyrelated to his work as a DJ - the one could dXb
dXb not exist without the other - two sidesof a creative dXb
dXb symbiosis. In his first studio album The Unexpected dXb
dXb Truth, to bereleased on Berlins Highgrade Records, dXb
dXb Mihai Popoviciu shows two distinctsides of his dXb
dXb musical mind. Accross the ten tracks we find, on the dXb
dXb one hand,his private and reserved expressions, and on dXb
dXb the other a powerful and surgingmusical attitude. The dXb
dXb record is characterised by its unconcerned and easy dXb
dXb goingatmosphere, which transforms rapidly into dXb
dXb driving percussion and minimalambience. It is at once dXb
dXb varied, original and catchy. Mihai himself considers dXb
dXb TheUnexpected Truth to be the essence of his artistic dXb
dXb work: A mirror of everythingI do as a producer and dXb
dXb DJ. With this debut long player, he will appeal to dXb
dXb boththe party animal and the sofa connoisseur. As dXb
