The first time I came across the Music of Voltax was on the compilation "Heavy Metal Killers" that was released by Earache earlier this year. One of the positive surprises was Voltax from México. This band that was formed in 2006 released their self-titled debut in 2007 through Blower Records. High Roller Records from Germany now has released this limited vinyl album (500 copies of which 300 in splatter). So be quick!

Voltax's music can be described as Heavy Metal with an occasional sidestep to Speed Metal. You can hear various influences and you sometimes wonder whether it is the same band you're listening to. One song might sound like Agent Steel where the next one is reminiscent to a mix of Accept and Warlock. Quite varied stuff so to speak, but definitely worthwhile. Fans of pure Heavy Metal will appreciate Voltax without any doubt and I understood they're already working on a new album...
