Album number five from the ever dependable Australians BLACK MAJESTY, is an affair typical of the band and whilst they’ve consistently put out stellar material I feel that the majority of their releases are fairly interchangeable and “Stargazer” is no different. If you enjoy this band, and you’ve heard at least one or two of their albums you will no exactly what to expect here.

In saying that though, I would also have to state that this is along with “Sands of Time” and “Silent Company” among the bands strongest material. The songs here are genuinely very good, all of which are energetic and well played. The band performs like the true professionals they are and despite a slightly awry first few lines John "Gio" Cavaliere he sounds great throughout. The guitars have always been my favourite asset of BLACK MAJESTY and it is no different here on “Stargazer” as the riffs are quality and memorable throughout, with some really tasteful leads.

I’m not left with too much to say about this release, as “Stargazer” doesn’t deviate too far from the bands established style and sound. This shouldn’t be seen as a bad thing though, as BLACK MAJESTY are a cool band and I wouldn’t personally like to see them deviate from their winning brand of eighties metal catapulted into the modern day sound. Overall a solid and highly enjoyable effort, fans of the band will no doubt fall in love with this, and if you’re new to the band then this is as good a place as any to start. For those who enjoy their Power Metal best like it was originally conceived in the eighties, as opposed to the hyperactive European sound then this one comes highly recommended.
