(Heavy Metal) [CD] Highway Killer - Lost Metal Tales - 2010, WavPack (image+.cue), lossless

OK, so I wish I still had my Heavy Metal website as of writing this, but I don't so I am making good with new means! Anyway, what we have here is some classic Saxon and Accept inspired German metal (the same country that brought us the Scorps and of course, the previously mentioned Accept). "Lost Metal Tales" is the realization of a life-long dream for vocalist Metal Lion, and a DANG good CD to boot.

Opening with the Saxon - maybe "Denim and Leather" inspired - title-track "Heavy Rock is the Law", you are treated with a great chorus and awesome musicianship throughout. I will post the lyrics for this song below. Other standout tracks include "Metalfighters", "Highway Killer", "Girls In Leather" and "Metal Lion". There are also a few references to Accept "Restless and Wild" and "Fast as a Shark" in the lyrics! The CD includes great photos and solid packaging for an independent release. In the insert there is also a picture of Ralf with vocalist/metal queen Lee Aaron, one of my new favorites. "Pirates of the Storm" is also somewhat funny, in the Running Wild "Under Jolly Roger" style.

The band features Ralf "Metal Lion" Neumann (Vocals), Sasch "Mighty Monster" Menschl (Guitar), Michael "Reaper" Ulrich (Guitar), Twain "Metal Giant" Friedrich (Bass) and Sascha "Manimal" Pasaric on the drums. Beautiful story that the German group HIGHWAY KILLER !
In 1988 a group called HOTWIRE was born and tried to follow the flow of Heavy Metal groups of his country who had managed to forge the legend, ACCEPT, STORMWITCH, NOISEHUNTER, GRAVESTONE, RAILWAY.... !
Titles were composed and managed to get himself talked about locally, the same as Highway Killer ,
which will appear on a local compilation Rock Aus’M Kalk. in 1990 but this was the end of HOTWIRE ...
It was not until a birthday party organized by Arno Hofmann. Sasch Menschl of SAINTSBLEED, Guitarist of the band and the label MIGHTY MONSTER RECORDS was present Heavy Mйtal Underground and it was love at first sight! With the help of The Forgotten Metal Pearl they found the original members and two accepted the challenge to reregister their old songs! But only one member could (or wanted) to accept the mission ...
So it was Sasch of SAINTSBLEED to offer the opportunity to his services as a second guitarist and bassist, and invited the drummer and guitarist of SAINTSBLEED to complete the training; To show that it was a new group, it was decided to use the name of the song at the origin of the adventure, as the group name!
That you know! So you played the old Ralf NEUMANN as of today, but with his 80's and a way to stick as closely to the spirit of Michael ULRICH ! You can imagine no originality or risk taking! The 10 titles "new" are typically Teutonic in spirit, with refrains and melodies already heard, but successful! Sasch , Reaper , Twain , Sascha & Ralf are very good and leave a good taste like beer!
