Lance King is an American Heavy / Power metal singer that has done work with many bands such as AVIAN, BALANCE OF POWER and PYRAMAZE. “A Moment In Chiros” is King’s debut solo album. The album is an epic concept album with a lot of progressive elements. some may say SYMPHONY X meets HELLOWEEN kind of thing.

The first thing you’ll notice when you hear this album is how easy it is to get the vibe of the songs. Lyrically, and also musically, this album is something that not every band, even most of the Progressive ones can do. From the second I pushed play til the end of the album I felt like I have just read a well written script of a movie. I just couldn’t take my ears (you know what I mean) from this piece of art.

The music is perfectly composed just as a great movie soundtrack. The lyrics and vocal form of King fits great and provides each song just what it needs to take it to the top. Now it will be a great time to talk about King’s amazing vocal skills. Man, this dude can sing. Just for the lazy ones I will mention the song “Infinity Divine” as one to listen to if you want to get an idea of what this amazing artist has done on this album. Besides the point, this track is my personal favorite.

The only thing that I was missing was a little more lead guitar work, but judging it as a solo album from a vocalist it has plenty of guitar work and an excellent one. Production wise the record sounds amazing!!! If you are a fan of early DREAM THEATER, SYMPHONY X and KAMELOT, you’ll love this one.
