Disk 1: GarciaУдачный побочный продукт возобновленного сотрудничества группы The Grateful Dead с лейблом Warner Bros. Сольник в полном смысле этого слова. Джерри Гарсия сыграл почти на всех инструментах, только на ударных помог Billy Kreutzmann. Последний на тот момент альбом Grateful Dead вышел 14 месяцами ранее, так что на сольнике имеется некоторое количество свежего материала.
Аранжировке каждого из 10 оригинальных треков Джерри смог придать индивидуальное звучание: от прямолинейной рок-н-ролла с блюзовой основой ("Sugaree") до авангарда ("Late for Supper"). Disk 2: Garcia (Compliments)Изрядная противоположность предыдущему альбому. Джерри играет при поддержке ансамбля, а не как мультиинструменталист, играет каверы, а не оригинальный материал, играет материал, выбранный продюсером проекта (John Kahn, заодно и басист), а не самостоятельно. Именно на этом альбоме начинается The Jerry Garcia Band.
