Miguel Ríos is one of the most veteran and respected rockers in Spain. His trajectory is plenty of changes as a function of the fashion changes. This way, in the middle 70's he released two albums in the vein of the flamenco-progressive movement in which he felt comfortable due to his andalusian origin. Those were: "La Huerta Atómica", with important contributions of spanish progressive musicians, and "Al-andalus", with the spanish band Guadalquivir as accompanying band, that made the spanish tour of 1978 with him. The rest of his carreer is vast (much more than the items displayed here) but far from progressive rock before and afterwards. In his most comercial years, in the 80's his band included the Keyboardist Thijs van Leer from Focus. (Jose Manuel Iñesta)

Les cuento que el disco de Miguel Rios denominado la Huerta Atomica es un album conceptual del anno 1976, como acota el Cajero Mayor, y es una joya del progresivo espannol.
Como su nombre lo indica se trata de una hipotetica huerta, localizada cerca de una base militar de EE. UU. y en donde el duenno escucha los ensayos de los aviones a propulsion, etc. El se duerme y sueña una posible guerra atomica, en la cual por mera casualidad encima de la Huerta cae una bomba atomica pero que estalla de una forma diferente; creando una burbuja antirreaccion, la cual proteje al señor de la muerte atomica, y ahi sigue la trama.
Lo interesante del disco es que Miguel Rios deja de lado su rock blues y hace una obra estilizada, cruda (para su momento, que no pasa) y critica a los sistemas de poder militar. Es una obra super recomendada al igual que la que sigue llamada -Al Andaluz- con claras influencias andaluzas y un tema dedicado a Federico Garcia Lorca. Ambos son discos EXCELENTES.
