"Da tempo il jazz non si pone più il problema di reinventarsi a partire dall’evoluzione delle poetiche individuali. La musica di questo nuovo millennio è più che mai legata al reperimento e alla risistemazione creativa di suggestioni legate alle soggettività dei musicisti. Sono materiali provenienti dagli ambiti più differenti, spesso strappati ad una letteratura cinematografica che ha messo in circolo soluzioni sonore di abbagliante ed incompromessa bellezza. Musicisti come data-base biologici, come coscienze sottili che intuiscono nuovi utilizzi per i propri materiali della memoria, i quali vengono così svincolati tanto dalla tirannia delle destinazioni d’uso originarie che da quella della reminiscenza nostalgica. Musicisti come anime liberatrici, e dunque liberate. Danilo Gallo e Max Sorrentini producono con Godfriedfingers un lucido manifesto di questa poetica del reperimento, un’affermazione di sapienza ri-compositiva che finisce col ridiscutere le funzioni tradizionali degli strumenti impiegati. Blonde Zeros sono un basso e una batteria che, nel generare strutture portanti, producono già poetica senza dipendere da ulteriori livelli della costruzione musicale. Livelli che pure vi sono, e preziosi: nelle tastiere visionarie di Giorgio Pacorig, nell’alto urgente di Piero Bittolo Bon, negli archi preziosi di Maria Vicentini, nella voce di Laura Copiello, nello stesso polistrumentismo di Danilo Gallo. Reinvent jazz from new aestethics is not an issue anymore. The music of the new millennium is more than ever connected to the retrieval and creative arrangement of suggestions coming from the musicians' own experiences. Materials come from the most disparate fields, often eradicated from a cinematography that features dazzling and uncompromised sonic devices. Musicians as biological databases, subtle consciences that give their own memories a new employment. Those memories are redeemed from the tyranny of their original purposes and nostalgic reminiscence. Musicians as liberating - and rescued - souls. Danilo Gallo and Max Sorrentini's God Fried Finger is a bright manifesto of this finding poetics, an assertion of re-compositional wisdom that ends up bringing the common instrumental functions into question. Blonde Zeros are a bass and a drumset that generate carrier structures, making themselves a story that doesn't depend on further musical layers. Layers that, nevertheless, are there, and valuable: Giorgio Pacorig's visionary keyboards, Piero Bittolo Bon's urgent alto sax, Maria Vicentini's excellent strings, Laura Copiello's voice, Danilo Gallo's poly-instrumentalism. Recorded by Blaž Celarec in the snow of Ljubljana, this music shines brightly in Enrico Terragnoli's wonderful mix and post-production.
