(Avant/Jazz/Progressive rock) Per Tjernberg - Inside Information - 2007, FLAC (image + .cue + scans), lossless

I know drummer Per Tjernberg from his (great) work with Archemedes Badkar, so I was hopeful that this would be good, but man, oh, man, I was not expecting something this great. While some of the tracks feature as few as four players, the three big, extended pieces, which total over 40' on their own, feature up to 21 musicians! This combines the influences of Archimedes Badkar with electric jazz/rock ala Herbie Hancock's Sextant album and early Weather Report with some killer electric piano florishes on the big band stuff, which is beautifully arranged and performed, and one of the smaller works is very reminscient to my mind of the quiet stuff that Bundles-period Soft Machine would perform (like Floating World). Includes many of the former members of , and lots of other Swedish jazz names. This is an incredible album. Highly recommended, sure to be on my top 10 of 2007.
