(Krautrock) Electric Orange - Electric Orange - 1999, WAVPack (image+.cue), lossless

In 1999 Delerium-Records published the debut CD appeared already in 1993 of Electric orange anew with additional songs on a bonus CD.

The tracks are one single time trip in the music of the early seventy-year-olds, only some modern sounding rhythms remind of the fact that these are newer recordings. Most songs are pure instrumentell, merely in "The return of Eugene, be careful" there are a few whispered Vocals. Besides, the songs remind me involuntarily sometimes of Camel, Eloy, Tangerine Dream or how in the abovementioned title becomes quite clear, to the early pink Floyd. There are the then usual long guitar games or organ games with sound, nice saxophone and flutes inserts, depending on who serves even as model. This makes the disc rather attractive, however, a little bit needs getting used to from the style mix. The tape points which it can play everything (both Floyd loans track 4-5 I find very much successfully), for it the red thread something gets lost. Annoyingly I find only the absolutely monotonous percussion play (who has put the Drumcomputer).

Much more full of suspense and in itself closed works the bonus CD which is also more meditative in the whole equipment and quieter than CD 1, although in "Borrowed toothpaste paranoia" quick beats with Hammond organ and guitars bricolage are whisked. Then the titles already betray it - now the old krautrock times are animated again, there are experimental sound collages, hypnotic Sequencerparts and other tonal games. Then only at the end of the last track there are a little catchier song structures again. But till then the bonus disk is a wonderful homage to old times.
