AMON DIN has been formed in the summer of 1995. in the land of Serbia with a wish to play death metal. In January of 1996. the band enters the studio for the first time and records DEMO1. After a while, melodic deathrash style has been riched with the keyboards, which leads to many inovations during 1997. and later. As the result of all that DEMO2 has been created, “Live In Central Club”, where a great musical advance could be felt. In that time and later AMON DIN had a reputation of the concert active band, and that has been confirmed by many concerts in central Serbia (Valjevo, Uzice, Kosjeric, Kraljevo, Lucani, Ruma, etc.), where this young band prudly presented its work.
After a while, in January of 1999, AMON DIN enters the “Cassablanca” studio (Belgrade), where the material for the debut album has been recorded. Because of the financial situation and NATO intervention in the country, the band was not able to finish everything before November. The creation called “Dinamoneyezed” finally came to the daylight during the first half of the year 2000. in the form of the tape Do-It-Yourself release with the cooperation with the manager Max Butcher. In the right way, the album has presented the work of this young band from Valjevo.
With the release of the DIY tape, AMON DIN makes participation on three compilations, which are “Scream Until YU Like It” for the Belgrade Rock Express Records (Umbra + Destiny as bonus track), “Awaken compilation VOL. 2” from Prigrevica (again Umbra), and in one Australian compilation (In Dread Of Insanity).
The promotion of the debut followed through the concerts, where the attention should be made to the concert in Valjevo in the beginning of the 2000. when the percussionist Andrija Jovanovic joined the band, which lead the band to more compact sound.
The radio promotion should not be forgotten for which the greatest gratitude the band owns to the 202 Radio, where AMON DIN had the title of the hit of the day/week/month few times. There are also some other stations along Serbia and abroad which helped to the band.
After the frontman of the band, Sasa Sarcevic, left to the army in December of 2000. the things were not going to the desired direction, especially because of the followed leavings to the army of one (Nebojsa, March 2002.)and after that the other guitarist (Nikola, June 2002.) . That lead to the band's much slower functioning than desired. In the meantime (days off) the band still had practices where new songs were created, and few successful concerts: Urban Demo Fest 1 in October 2001, after that the concert of Paul Di’Anno when AMON DIN played as the first night (March 2002.), and there was the concert in the end of the same year in Belgrade (like two previous), in the club of Dom Omladine with Sacramental Blood, Cascet Garden and Murder where guys from Valjevo have been noticed.
The beginning of the 2003. gave new start for AMON DIN, because all abligations to the army have been finished, and that lead the band to more practice, concert activity and anterance to the studio.
The enterance to the studio had an experimental character, and the outcome is more then satisfying. Everything has been done in “Chesnjak” (Kragujevac). The first song in mother tongue has been recorded (Nebeska Srbija), which is a little bit slower, without screaming, and it still is AMON DIN. The second song (The Hidden Sources Of Strength) is totally opposite: fast, full of energy, progressive and techincal more perfect comparing to previous work. Besides the band's original singer, the Max Butcher sang this song, which sounds more than excellent, so AMON DIN is richer for one more singer, although there were signs for that before, because Max has been special guest in concerts, singing the songs of Slayer, Sepultura, SOD,....
The new remix and postproduction of the “Dinamoneyezed” album is the next step, which has been done by highly experienced producer and the man who “knows the sound”, Max Butcher. With cooperation with studio musician Vuja (KBO!) and AMON DIN he also produced two new songs recently recorded, which can be found as bonus tracks on CD together with songs from concert in Novi Sad (February 2003, NS Time, Radio 202).
Finally the time has come for “Dinamoneyezed” to be re-released in CD format. The manager of the band took care of that, by signing the contract with Bane Lokner, the head of the Belgrade Active Time Records, where above mentioned bonus tracks can be found.
As for the guys who play in AMON DIN, here they are: Sasa Sarcevic and Max Butcher – vocals, Nikola Rajevac and Nebojsa Sarcevic – guitars, Sasa Stefanovic – bass, Bosko Rankovic – drums and Boris Novakovic – keyboards.
Concert activity has been upgraded and focused especially to the capitol city and bigger cities in Serbia, although the concerts abroad should be expected.
When we talk about future plans, with great contribution the band is working on the new material with working title “Where the dreams no longer exist” which should be realized in the next period of time. The second album will bring the return to the roots and enterance into speed and trashmetal sounds, but keeping the well known atmosphere of this band. The material wil mostly have faster rhytms, tehnicly much more perfect and modern style through rhytm section and the guitars. The vocal will be recognizable, although there will be inovations, and there is Max. You should expect much more energy and adrenalin, and all sounds more mature.
